With over 12,000 species, ferns can be found in many places, from lakes and streams to dry rock crevices and everywhere in between. Members $14, Non-members $20. 3 Thursdays, March 18 - April 1, 7:00 - 9:30pm. Gardening Basics at the Bartlett Arboretum. UConn Master Gardeners teach the fundamentals of gardening in 3 successive Thursday sessions: (1) Setting the stage; assess your garden, prepare garden beds, including amending soils, fertilizing, and mulching. (2) Perennials and Shrubs fro all garden conditions, pruning and maintenance. (3) Turf, the basic elements for a healthy lawn; composting. Q&A sessions will follow each class. $89 through Stamford Adult Education.
